A quarter century ago, a group of young enthusiastic doctors got together to promote a Polyclinic which provide medical care and relief at reasonable rates. The target group was middle-class who could not afford the expensive treatment of Private-Corporate hospitals. This class of people are not satisfied with the attention and available in government hospitals. After Extensive search for a proper location, the founding doctors decided to start the "Clinic Hyderabad" at Musheerabad in the premises of Late Sagarlal who had provided the requisite land and building at a normal rent of one Rupee per year.

The activities of the clinic were confined to two ramshackle sheds which housed the out-patient and in-patient departments. From this stage, today the medical centre has bloomed into a full-fledged hospital with 100 beds, three operation- theaters, ICU, special pediatric ward and other modern diagnostic facilities like X-ray, ECG, 2D Echo and Ultrasound scanning. The hospital also has a pathological laboratory with qualified Pathologists and a Bio-Chemist and other modern facilities of clinical care. After the sad demise of Sri Sagarlal, the original donor, in 1974, Clinic Hyderabad was renamed Sagarlal Memorial Hospital. The Hospital added a Research Centre which is named after another founding Trustee, Sri Matadin Goel,in the Year 1980. In 1991, the board of Trustees started a Nursing School in the same premises. The School is named after the celebrated lady saint Mother Krishna of Anand Ashram.

A Board of Trustees run the Institution- Sagarlal Memorial Hospital, Matadin Goel Research Center and Mother Krishna Bai Nursing School.  Since its inception, the hospital has been maintaining highest ethical standards and a high degree of professional competence. Unnecessary diagnostic references involving wasteful expenditure are scrupulously avoided. When patients need specialized treatment from outside, they are suitably advised. The hospital calls in superspeciaslists to treat patients with the house facilities available in the hospital.

Sagarlal Hospital is a philanthropic institution. There are no beneficiaries under the Trust and all the resources generated are ploughed back for the development of the hospital. This hospital was one of the first institutions to get CGHS recognition. The Trust also enjoy exemption under sec 80(G) of Income Tax Act. Eminent celebrities have visited the hospital. For important functions of the  hospital, Governors, Religious Leaders and Senior Civil Servants are invited.

Sagarlal Memorial Hospital and Matadin Goel Research Center has reached this stage of development because of the hard work, dedication and commitment of founding doctors like Dr. Bajranglal, Dr, Kedarnath and Dr. Muralidhar Gupta. The Trustees have acted with vision. The goodwill   and support given by donors, patrons and well-wishers have it possible for this dream to be  realized.
